Tracy was the news anchor at the California University news station and was hired by Mark Reese and Brandon Walsh. After a short time, Tracy and Brandon started spending time together. Before long, they had become romantically involved, though Brandon was gun shy with relationships when they met. They quarreled over several things, most notably Brandon not inviting Tracy to go to Hong Kong and visit his parents, Jim and Cindy Walsh, when he had an extra ticket. She did, however go on the trip. She often suspected that Brandon was not yet over his old girlfriend Kelly, and this was confirmed when Brandon eventually broke up with her. Tracy was briefly seen again in the eighth season, and it was revealed that she'd met a new man, Eric Anderson, become engaged, and was moving to Hawaii.
