Tom Riley, played by Lewis Smith, was a recurring character seen on Melrose Place, the second series of the Beverly Hills, 90210 continuity. He appeared in season 4.

Tom was an employee with the L.A. office of the Gay & Lesbian Rights Coaliation. He approached Matt Fielding after he was unjustly fired from Wilshire Memorial Hospital by Calvin Hobbs for being gay.

Tom was matter-of-fact and straight to the point and he encouraged Matt to stand up for the group of people he belonged to, whether he liked being in it or not. Matt thought about it and later decided he wanted to sue the hospital.

During depositions, Tom riled up Hobbs to the point where he displayed his bigotry against homosexuals with an outburst, thereby winning the case.
