Joy Taylor was a recurring character played by Ruth Livier on Beverly Hills, 90210, the first series of the Beverly Hills, 90210 continuity. She appeared in Season 7.
Character
Joy was the illegitimate daughter of Bill Taylor and half-sister of Kelly Taylor. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico before Bill sent her to school in Virginia. Joy's existence was hidden from Kelly all of her life by both Bill and her mother, Jackie Taylor.
Series
Largely, Bill doesn't have a close relationship with Joy, either, and disappointed her much the same way she always did with Kelly, even going as far as buying them the same items for Christmases and birthdays. After a rough start, Kelly and Joy got along very well before Joy returned home. Joy returned for Kelly's college graduation with Bill Taylor by her side. She seemed a little more sympathetic towards her father, trying to get Kelly to give him another chance. She also met Steve Sanders's brothers, Ryan and Austin. She spent some quality time with Ryan at the after-party and deflected passes from Austin. She said goodbye to her father before he was taken into custody for embezzlement and fraud. She did not appear again in the series.
