Jay Thurman is a guest character on Season 3 of FOX teen soap Beverly Hills, 90210. He is portrayed by Peter Krause.
Character
Jay was a former West Beverly Hills High School student and editor of The Blaze who was attending Northwestern University and interning at CNN. He was first seen coming to The Peach Pit to take Andrea Zuckerman out on a date to see Batman Returns. He was later seen kissing Andrea in the The Twins, the Trustee, and the Very Big Trip. He last appeared in Too Little, Too Late/Paris 75001, where he got Andrea an internship at CNN to go with him to Houston for the Republican National Convention.
They were falling for each other with Brandon Walsh watching on with jealousy. However, after Andrea formed a relationship with a young deaf boy, Cameron Shaw, she decided she couldn't leave him behind and turned down the internship. Jay left Beverly Hills to got to Houston, but agreed to a long-distance relationship with Andrea. At Christmas he broke up with her in a letter, which led to a very brief kiss between Andrea and Brandon.[1]
Trivia
- Jay sensed something between Andrea and Brandon, and actually asked Andrea if her decision to stay in Beverly Hills for the summer had something to do with Brandon.[2]
