The Beverly Beat was a small-time newspaper, but gave Brandon the experience he needed to get hired elsewhere. It was featured as a frequent set in seasons 8-10. Formerly the office for the Beverly Hills Shopper, the office was owned by Rush Sanders and given to Steve after the former publishers were fired. Rush gave him the business as an apology for not helping him out after college. He also gave him the Beverly Beat so that he could find his way in life. So that he could make a mark.
