[edit] Introduction

Erin is the daughter of Jackie Taylor and Mel Silver, and the sibling of Kelly Taylor and David Silver. As a toddler, she was a quiet child who received much love from those around her. At the conclusion of the series, her brother David married Kelly's close friend Donna Martin, making Donna her sister-in-law.

[edit] Interval

Erin, commonly called by her surname, later met and became close friends with Naomi Clark. During her time in eighth grade, Silver discovered that her father was having an affair, and attempted to keep the knowledge secret. Seeking comfort, she eventually confided this information in her closest friend. However, Naomi supposedly betrayed Silver's trust by telling others. Word of the affair ended up reaching Jackie, who responded by turning to alcohol, making her an addict once more. The friendship between Naomi and Silver then ended.

[edit] Teen life

During her high school years, Silver developed a more reserved, somewhat irreverent side—offset by a warmer nature deep within. Four years prior to the time of 90210, she became an aunt to Kelly's son Sammy. Like David and Kelly before her, Silver enrolled in West Beverly High. In addition, Kelly also became a guidance counselor there.

Silver gained fame around school due to The Vicious Circle, a popular video blog in which she reports on the lives of those around her—often by inserting digitized photos into animated shorts. She and Kelly have spent a measure of personal time attempting to lead their mother towards rehabilitation from alcoholism.

[edit] Relationships

Silver with Dixon & Annie at the Peach Pit

Shortly after meeting new kid Annie Wilson, Silver became offended when Annie left her to spend time with Naomi. She retaliated by making Annie the latest subject of parody on her blog. Following a chat with Kelly, however, she realized that Naomi was the true focus of her resentment, and apologized to Annie by helping her win a part in a school musical. This led to the beginning of Silver and Annie's friendship.

In order to avoid a regularly drunken Jackie, Silver began staying in a shelter. She was eventually turned away in favor of those who were more in need. She then sought brief refuge at Kelly's house, but learned that it would be unavailable for the evening. As a result, she took to sleeping in a car outside of the Wilsons' home after spending a night out with them. Dixon, Annie's adopted brother, later found and awakened Silver, leading the two to reveal and compare their troubled histories. In the process, Dixon described what his life had been like before meeting the Wilsons. He then alerted his family of the situation, and Silver spent the evening with them.

Kelly was made aware of Silver's troubles the next day, leading to a brief confrontation between Jackie and her daughters. Kelly then took Silver to live with her.

Silver and Dixon became flirtatious and grew gradually closer during the coming days. Prior to this, she and several others discovered that Naomi's father was having an affair. Naomi then feared that Erin would retaliate against her by posting the information on her blog. Silver later told Naomi that she wouldn't, which appeared to lessen the tension between them. Soon afterwards, Dixon and Silver began going out.

[edit] New beginnings

When Dixon eventually stated that he loved her, Silver expressed gratitude, but had a largely indifferent reaction. After he quietly revealed his hurt, she became quickly angry and walked off. Though Dixon was left confused, the two later reconciled at school. However, Dixon's discomfort with Silver's detachment led him to break up with her soon afterwards. In the following days, Silver found Dixon at a party and caused a ruckus, offended that he appeared to have moved on quite easily. After she'd stormed off again, Dixon caught up and found her emotionally shaken. She then stated that being in love was bringing her stress, which led the two to a happy reunion.

Erin went to Naomi when she needed help arranging hotel and dinner reservations on Valentine's Day. As Naomi used her connections to assist Silver, the two acknowledged that they enjoyed bonding again.

[edit] Disorder

Dixon and Silver later spent the evening together. Erin became notably agitated when a waitress gave her unexpected news about an order, but a perplexed Dixon pacified her. Afterwards, the two went to their hotel room. When a new school day came along, Silver revealed that she'd had Dixon's name tattooed on her torso. Dixon was flattered, but also appeared confused.

Silver later took an interest in film, requesting the assistance of teacher Ryan Matthews while compiling a small project for a local theater. Matthews became perplexed by her recent surge of enthusiasm, but lent his support. Dixon, Ryan, and a small audience then attended the premiere, noticing that the film—dedicated to love—was filled with odd flashes of eyes and beating hearts. The images then cut to a recording of Dixon and Silver having sex, which Erin had taped in secret. Outraged, Dixon left the theater as Matthews called for the movie to be cut. Erin followed Dixon home while frantically explaining her actions and stressing her love, but Dixon went inside after a brief argument. Soon afterwards, Dixon and his parents found the film burning outside.

Matthews then found a shaken Erin in his home, listening as she made several paranoid claims about him working against her. After dodging a thrown bottle while trying to approach, he then asked what she wanted from him. Silver replied that she wanted him to fix things.

Later that evening, word quickly spread that Silver had gone missing. She eventually attempted to contact Dixon, but the disturbed and confusing nature of her call prompted him to hang up. When she fell asleep at the local train station, a fellow customer called the Wilsons on her phone, informing them of where she was. As the family arrived, Dixon recognized Silver's symptoms as being similar to his birth mother's, concluding that she had bipolar disorder. He then comforted her again, and she was eventually taken to a hospital.

[edit] Recovering

Dixon visited Erin after she was released from the hospital. Later, she and Kelly were surprised by a visit from Donna, who arrived with her baby girl Ruby. Silver began to feel that Kelly was becoming overbearing and overprotective of her, but Donna helped the situation by convincing Erin that Kelly's actions were only natural. Afterwards, Silver was surprised when Donna introduced her to writer Diablo Cody, who she'd recently done business with. Being a fan of Cody's, Silver then posed for a picture with her.

In the following days, Erin became disturbed that word of her troubles had spread. She eventually decided to leave West Beverly and enroll at St. Clare's Catholic school, and informed Ethan Ward of this during a quiet break from a party.

[edit] The prom

Despite her enrollment in a new school, Silver attended the West Beverly Prom with Dixon. They were joined by Ethan, who hadn't planned to attend until Silver invited him to accompany them. Dixon was voted Prom King, while Silver—with Dixon's intervention—unexpectedly won Prom Queen. Silver was flattered by the award, but ultimately declined it on-stage, trivializing the event. Afterwards, Silver revealed that she was ready to return to West Beverly. A hurt Dixon, however, chose to distance himself from her. She was then congratulated on her speech by Ethan.

At an after-prom party at Naomi's house, Dixon began to suspect Ethan of having a crush on Silver. Ethan denied this at first, but then admitted it under pressure. When Silver spoke with Ethan in private later, he kissed her, and asked that she consider her own feelings for him.

[edit] New beginnings

Over the summer, Silver has reconnected with Naomi (who, like most of the school was forced to do summer school due to Annie calling the cops on Naomi's party), and Adrianna. On the way out, she bumps into Dixon and they both greet each other obviously missing each other. We learn that over the summer they had broken up. She then goes with Naomi and Adriana to the Beverly Hills beach club to relax. She jokes with Naomi over her new boyfriend (who happens to be twice Naomi's age) and find out that Ethan has been texting her over the summer and she is confused on who she should pursue a relationship with. They also talk about Annie. Silver is no longer friends with her, but tells Naomi that she believes that Annie never slept with Liam, as Annie may be a rat but not a skank. While practicing tennis, she and Naomi run into Teddy, the son of a famous actor who used to date Adriana. She runs into Dixon again at the beach where they take a walk and talk, then suddenly kiss each other both saying they want to get back together. However, Silver decides not to tell Dixon about Ethan, as she knows that she no longer wants to be with Ethan. Later that night, Teddy gives Silver her phone that she dropped on the beach, and reads her text from Ethan, discussing their kiss. Later, Teddy tells Dixon that Silver received a text message from Ethan which mentions he and Silver kissed. Dixon then confronts Silver and breaks up with her. The next day, which is the first day of school, she tells Naomi and Adrianna that she is not ready to give up on Dixon.

Knowing that Dixon is still mad about Ethan, she decides to give him room and talk to him when he is in a better mood. When Dixon tries out for the new school surf team with Liam and Teddy. Silver attempts to call Dixon now that he is in a better mood after making the team. Watching Dixon receiving the call on Beach while Silver herself is at the parking lot, she sees Dixon ignore the call which leads her to believe that their relationship is really over for good and she is comforted by Adrianna and Naomi.

Silver later goes to an AA meeting with Adrianna and Navid where she sees Jackie and runs away. She later gets a message from Jackie telling her to come to the next meeting which she does, and she makes a speech telling Jackie that she's a bad mother and Adrianna tells her that shes dying of cancer. Silver then tells Kelly about Jackie dying of cancer but Kelly didn't care and Silver reconciles with Jackie who then tells her to move back in with her. Kelly then tells Jackie to leave Silver alone and Silver accuses her of not caring that her mother is dying of cancer. She then tells Jackie she wants to move back in.
