90210pedia:About
From 90210pedia
90210pedia is a comprehensive reference guide to the Beverly Hills, 90210 continuity.
Our mission is to offer concise, easy-to-read material for the many scattered points and players of the continuity, ranging from the prominent to the obscure. We welcome all who wish to add helpful contributions, and ask that editors read two of our primary policies—Neutral point of view and What 90210pedia is not—in order to best edit and enjoy the site.
When reading, be advised that 90210pedia contains spoilers from aired episodes, particularly in character articles. However, please note that spoilers from episodes that have not aired in the United States (where episodes typically have their premiere dates) are not allowed in 90210pedia. Note also that "Quotes" and "Trivia" sections should no longer be included; information should only be integrated into the body of the article. Please do not copy text from other Websites and post it here. Additionally, videos dedicated to pairings/couples or triangles of any sort are not to be embeded in 90210pedia.
Here are some additional tips for adding content, along with an overview of the standard guidelines.
- When a character is mentioned in another character's article, it is not always necessary to cite the name of the performer who played the other character. For example, in the Dylan McKay article, it would not be necessary to name the actor who played one of Dylan's friends after mentioning their character (though doing so would be fine). It is appropriate, however, for performers to generally be credited in non-character articles.
- We do not presently create individual articles for actors or actresses. The Cast members listing is the designated area for basic info regarding on-screen regulars. Please note the appropriate policies (specifically Vandalism and Neutral point of view) with regard to adding content on living persons.
- When referring to the first series, please use the entire title—Beverly Hills, 90210—in order to avoid confusion with the fourth show, 90210.
- We generally use the present tense when introducing characters on their pages (unless making a special designation that calls for something else). The following illustrates how these introductions are usually written.
- For Recurring Characters
- ". . . is a recurring character seen on [series name] . . ."
- For Regulars
- ". . . is a character introduced in [series name] . . ."
Note that either "on" or "in" are acceptable and that the second introduction can be applied to recurring characters who have been seen in more than one series.
- Every wiki has two lists of articles that need help called "Stubs" and "Wanted Articles". Don't be shy, get in there.
- Uploading images is another really easy way to help out—see the Special:Upload page.
- You can find a list of useful templates on Category:Templates, some of which are documented on the templates project page.
